A twenty eight member delegation led by Mr. Chakporn Oonjitt, Director of the Construction Institute of Thailand (CIT) of the Kingdom of Thailand will arrive in the country on April 22, 2014 for a 5-day visit. The delegation consists of members from the Ministry of Commerce, the Construction Institute of Thailand and several business houses that are involved in manufacture of light weight concrete, ceramics, sanitary ware, metal works and consultants. This is a reciprocal visit by the delegation from Thailand.
While in the country, the delegation will call on the Hon’ble Secretary, MoWHS, and will be involved in meetings with the Director of Construction Development Board (CDB) for future collaboration, the Director of Department of Engineering Services for alternative construction materials, and the Department of Industry for opportunities in FDI among others. The Construction Association of Bhutan (CAB) will host a business matching dinner on the 23rd of April, 2014.
The visit is expected to further strengthen the growing bond between the two kingdoms.
The CIT of Thailand was established in 2011 and is the equivalent of CDB of Bhutan that deals with all matters related to the construction industry in Thailand including monitoring and promotional activities. The CIT is going to be renamed as the Construction Council of Thailand soon and will be empowered as an autonomous agency.
