CIDC Delegation visit to Bhutan

A three member delegation led by Dr. P.R Swarup, Director General, Construction Industry Development Council (CIDC), New Delhi, visited Bhutan from May 4, 2015 to May 8, 2015. This was a reciprocal visit by the delegation from New Delhi.

While in the country, the delegation called on the Hon’ble Zhabtog Lyonpo and the Hon’ble Secretary, MoWHS. They were also involved in meetings with the Construction Development Board, Ministry of Labour and Human Resources,  Royal University of Bhutan, Department of Roads, Construction Association of Bhutan, Construction Development Corporation Limited, Bhutan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Tourism council of Bhutan.

 The main discussions carried out in the meetings were on the development of the human resources in the construction industry, development of the skills program in the construction institutes, training on PPP mode of project implementations, construction awards, training and certification of the arbitrators, construction management programs and grading of the construction entities.

 The CIDC, New Delhi, was set up jointly by the Planning Commission, Government of India, and the Indian construction industry to take up activities for the development of the Indian construction industry in 1996.
