How to become an arbitrator
Becoming an arbitrator requires that you fulfill the criteria
set by the CDB Secretariat.
If you believe that you meet the criteria, you may apply to the CDB
Secretariat for inclusion on the List by completing the application form and sending it to the Chairman of the CDB.
The Application Form will be screened by the Secretariat. If you
satisfy the requirements you will be called for an interview at which you will
be expected to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding of the Constitution,
Rules and Procedures of the Construction Arbitration Committee.
If you are successful, you will be required to undertake training conducted
by one or more arbitrators (the appointed arbitrator or arbitrators) already
appearing on the List. This will also include accompanying at least 2
arbitrators on at least 4 arbitrations and assisting him or them with the
drafting of the arbitral awards.
Once you have completed this training to the satisfaction of the appointed
arbitrator or arbitrators, you name will be included on the List of Arbitrators.
