Criteria for becoming an arbitrator
Qualifications:
1. Age 35+
2. Either:
a) Higher Academic or Professional Qualifications
OR
b) Significant Professional Experience in Commerce, Finance, Accounting,
Construction, Public or Private Administration/Management, Law
3. Experience of Bhutanese Legal Tradition
4. Experience of Bhutanese Construction Industry (optional)
5. Good Standing in the Community
6. Police NOC
An example of candidates would be:
Senior and Experienced:
- Businessmen
- Contractors
- Former Government officials
- Former Justices
- Lawyers
- Accountants and finance specialists
Note: Currently employed civil-servants (employees of RGOB) are not
allowed to become arbitrators.
